Famous music producer divorcing wife of five years

On Behalf of | Oct 24, 2013 | High Asset Divorce |

Divorce can happen to any couple. Whether they’ve been together for five months or five years, a couple may encounter irreconcilable differences at any stage of their marriage and decide to split up. It doesn’t matter how rich, famous or successful the couple may be, divorce is often times the best option for couples looking to move forward and begin a new stage in their lives.

One very famous, very successful couple is undergoing divorce proceedings soon. California fans of Timbaland may be surprised to learn the music producer is splitting up with his wife of five years, Monique Mosley. Mosley filed for the divorce, and is seeking permanent alimony, child support for both children — one of whom is from a relationship Mosley had prior to marrying Timbo — private schooling for the children, life insurance and legal fees. The high-profile couple will also have to figure out how to split their marital properties.

Couples with high-value assets very often experience complex asset division when going through divorce. Splitting up marital property can be challenging, making it important to consult a legal professional when doing so. A legal professional can help in valuing assets, as well as guide divorcing partners through what options are available legally. For example, in the case of Mosley and Timbaland, Timbaland could contest Mosley’s demands in court or the couple could seek an agreement through mediation.

In either case, a legal professional is helpful in valuing assets, divorce strategy and guiding couples through mediation and trial. Regardless of the level of assets involved, there are multiple approaches both parties should consider when going through divorce. A legal professional can help couples decide which ones are best for each situation.
